Res-Q takes his stage name from Bob Marley’s Sun is Shining, “to the rescue, here I am…” a great optimistic song reflecting his personality.
Born in France, Res-Q spent his teenage years in the United States, where his musical prowess matured. He became "addicted to vinyl" and at 15 years old, bought his first MKII. Music for Res-Q means SHARING so, quite naturally, being a DJ was inevitable.
Upon his return to his native France for college, Res-Q joined the campus radio station and started to mix & play in a variety of clubs and corporate events. His home studio expanded and he started producing and recording international artists while continuing to build his reputation as a "remix" specialist.
In 2001, Res-Q joined France’s 2 times sound system champion, KING JUNIOR SOUND. By 2005, Res-Q was playing all over Paris and amazed everyone during the French sound systems Championship finals at the Loco Club (in the Moulin Rouge district) when he spun a James Brown classic.
His talent and dedication to his craft, have provided the opportunity for him to open for a lot of artists’ concerts as well as travelling to French Guyana for the 1st Urban Culture Festival in 2009.
In 2011, Res-Q joins the CariVibez.tv team based in New York and Jamaica in order to create the Top 20 Music Video.
Res-Q has once again expanded his repertoire and continues to prove successful with his unique mixing skills by bringing the art of remixing audio/video into the VJ-ing game.
In 2011, his « Jah Army » video edit has more than 20 000 views on youtube in less than 1 month, VP Records decide to use this video for the tv promo spot for the release of « Reggae Gold 2011 »
Multi-talented, RES-Q is a DJ, VJ, and all around entertainer and crowd please. His goal is quite simple: Produce an out of this world audio-video show.
