Japan Music Week welcomes the participation of record labels, publishers, music media, promoters, managers, retailers and other music industry people.

And please attend our industry party on the lounge floor of Shibuya Ruido K2 (underneath Key Music Store, near Deseo and the South exit) on Fri 11 Nov from 5-10pm. There are 16 great domestic and international independent artists performing showcase acts on the live floor for you to check out, and there'll be networking with complementary drinks.

Rumble in Rhodos: - We are Rumble in Rhodos. We are a band born in Oslo in late 2003. If you haven’t heard of us before, you’ve missed our three full-length albums, one E.P., and more than 200 energetic indie rock shows doused with touches of no-wave, danceable post-punk, while accented by obtrusive underground.

Simon Says No! - Simon Says No is an Oslo band originally from the west coast city of Bergen, which is home to bands like Datarock, Annie, Kings of Convience, Casiokids (and the list goes on). After high school, Ruben Nesse and Simon Økland began playing music together, experimenting with different genres and bands. Ruben challenged Simon to start a solo project but Simon’s answer was a clear! “NO!”

alphanude: This 4-person pop rock group is active mainly around the Tokyo suburbs. It was started by Aki (bass) and JP (guitar) and went through many lineup changes before the band finally started giving live shows in autumn 2010. The alphanude members’ goal is to use their individual experiences cultivated over the years and create music which anyone can enjoy. The quality of the songs they have come up with as well as their firm on-stage skills have been positively received.

BAGAVAD GITA: Challenging limits. That’s real rock. In the modern world, will real rock, real rebelliousness resonate? In this halcyon era, what in the world should we fight for? “To conquer the evil in this beautiful country.” To create a more beautiful, more inviting future. BAGAVAD GITA is avant garde, alternative music endowed with prayer and revolution for the future. There is no music here. There are just humans and soul.

Black Adelie is a rock band formed in 2009. The members of the group number three in all, and like the Beatles are characterized by their simple tastes. Their sound, which replicates the hottest era covering the late 1960s to early 1970s rock and pops, is referred to as no less old, but new. Contrasting the Garage Rock Revival that is all the rage now in Tokyo, this band abounds in originality.

hemlock: In October 2009, three unique people joined forces having met on the vast sea of the Internet. The band’s motto is “for very life”, meaning that they rely on souls at every moment. From the corner of a narrow apartment to the end of the galaxy the band tries to convey their passions and feelings to the world. Their sound will take you into a whirlwind dream, and sentimental love story. Check it out to see if it suits your taste!

Led Naked: From Kananga, the young heterodox band-Led Naked Why are they heterodox? Firstly, their average height is 5 foot 11. Secondly, their simple lyrics are derived from an English that penetrates your feelings. Third, the “guitar-rock sound” has been generated by various influences which transcend generations.

Nutty Western’s: Rooted in 50s/60s Rock and Country music, the band “Nutty Western’s” adds spices of Blues, Ska, Rustic, Punk, R&B and Swing to their latest peculiar-but- interesting “entertainment party sound”. With dynamic stage presence and various musical backgrounds band mates generate a unique pattern of melodies. Now, they are flying through Tokyo air... not to be missed.

The Cheserasera: Their sound and songs go back and forth between the dream world and reality. This three member rock band manages to bring out such dually contrasting concepts simultaneously in all of their works. The Cheserasera was formed by three career musicians in August 2009, in Tokyo. Today they’re mainly active in Shibuya, Shimokitazawa and Shinjuku

The Midnight Guarantees: This rock & roll band is mainly active in Shimokitazawa. With a knack for creative musical compositions and enchanting performances they know how to set their audience members’ hearts on fire, guaranteeing a fantastic live show each and every night. The band’s live performances are also known for being quite innovative and imaginative. Their previous live event, held aboard a ship, drew 150 fans and completely sold out. You have to join the fight! Oh my!

THE SUS: THE SUS was formed in Nobeoka City, Miyazaki Pref. in 1999. Teshima’s (vocal/guitar) lyrics and their strong heavy sound make them stand out. After their song was chosen for use in a commercial for Asahi Super Dry, they moved to Tokyo. Now they're on a tour after they released "Breakthrough" in March 2011. They will be going on another tour for "STEREO",which will be released in November 2011.

杉山裕: Sugiyama You: Born December 26, 1986 From Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture. Folk singer/ songwriter. Performed with numerous bands before going solo in 2009. Featuring words woven together from his original world view, his music stirs the imagination of the listener.

青木慎太朗: Aoki Shintaro: Energetically searching for a new form for the folk song, he currently performs in Tokyo. From Numazu city, Shizuoka Prefecture. He is a singer / songwriter with a slow lifestyle who is not ashamed of where he comes from. There is unprecedented power in his words. In July, he made his Indies Debut. In various parts of the city, in live houses and on the street, he delivers hot performances. It’s difficult not to take note of Aoki, who seems to be progressing by the day.

クラクションズ: Craxons: Since forming in May, 2007, until now, the four members have never once officially assembled together, but even if their numbers fall to even just one member, this lyrical, rock-solo band will not stop performing. Continuing to regularly vary their melodies, which are rooted in sadness and anger, the band conveys raw feelings of blueness unto this day primarily in the city (of Tokyo).

リコチェットガール: Ricochet Girl: Formed in February of 2011 with vocalist Inaka in the lead. Having gone through some changes, the four-member band currently consists of a keyboard vocalist, guitar, bass, and support drummer.They are currently looking for a drummer. Characterized by their eccentric music and cynical lyrics, the Japanese rock band strives to create a sound that surges through ordinary life. In October 2011, the group independently planned their, “I don’t feel like singing at all” event in Shibuya, their first source record.
